The MITA Co-operative Housing Society Ltd. is a proud member of the larger co-operative housing movement nurtured under the guidance of the Mumbai District Co-operative Housing Federation Ltd. – one of the oldest and most respected federations in India’s co-operative sector. Established to represent and safeguard the interests of housing societies, the Federation traces its roots back to 1948, originally functioning as the Mumbai and Thane District Co-operative Housing Federation Ltd. With its bifurcation in 1991, the present-day Mumbai District Co-operative Housing Federation has dedicated itself exclusively to the needs of societies within Mumbai. Today, the Federation supports more than 22,000 co-operative housing societies, providing guidance, dispute resolution, and valuable resources.
